What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of focused concentration accompanied by deep relaxation, in which your mind is more receptive to ideas. These are ideas that you want your mind to be receptive to so you can easily obtain your goals.
One way of defining hypnosis is to simply call it “guided meditation.”Imagine you are the driver of a car and the hypnotist is the navigator guiding your journey. You have free will and are in control.
Hypnosis is really a natural, though changed, state of mind. Each of us enter some type of trance on several occasions each day. For example when we are driving and pass a turn-off because our thoughts are wandering this is a natural trance state. Everybody experiences natural, changed states before dropping off to sleep and upon awakening. Each time we become engrossed in a book or a movie we are in a self induced hypnotic trance.
What does hypnosis feel like?
A hypnotic trance merely feels like a natural state of deep relaxation. Clients are often surprised that they hear everything. Except for the times when one enters a medium state or deeper state, they may not “feel” any different than when simply relaxing or reading a good book or listening to relaxing music. One may feel calm or possibly feel light. It is also possible to feel very heavy & so relaxed they feel limp. It can be different for everyone. It simply feels good and deeply relaxed. In a light state, it is entirely possible for a client to believe that he or she was not hypnotized, so it is very important to realize that IMAGINATION is the language of the subconscious. You do not have to “feel hypnotized for the session to be successful. Anyone that wants to be hypnotized can be.
Can I be made to do things against my will?
When you see a “stage hypnotist” having people do silly things it is because they desire to do this things and have fun with it. So they “go along” with the show. Any suggestion that you choose to resist you can resist. That is why it takes more than one session to identify and change your subconscious beliefs. How long will it take to work?
Most suggestions start working immediately. However your desire to achieve your goals, your ability to relax make this a very individual process. You will find that whether listening to a recording of my voice or having an in person session each time you are hypnotized become increasingly relaxed and more receptive in a more rapid manner . I have found hypnosis to be more effective than rapid changes and benefits than just about any other method when done by a Certified Hypnotist.
Can I be hypnotized for weight loss.
Anyone that wants to be hypnotized can be hypnotized. There are so many emotional components around food that successful lasting weight loss is most effective with a complete hypnosis program. Transient and immediate changes are possible but for long lasting results the complete program is necessary to resolve the subconscious hidden beliefs that create the “yo yo” diet effect.
